Adventurers: Times and dates vary
For those who want to extend their learning circle beyond the local community, we offer our Adventurers Program. Adventurers include any of our World House families who would like to sign-up for one of our tailor-made learning adventures. These include extended weekend trips as well as 2-week long travel opportunities. Sample family and group travel options include: a weekend maple sugaring with an Amish family, sleigh riding, and sledding in Western Maryland; 4-day family-friendly music festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina; 2 weeks exploring south Florida’s ecosystem in January; A full-day biking along a trail and learning about railroad history; 2 weeks walking in the footsteps of Henry Thoreau in Massachusetts; an overnight camping and hiking trip at Hawk Mountain, Pennsylvania. Trips are budget-friendly and communal with group travel, lodging and cooking options.
