4 years ago World House grew out of a homeschool cooperative that was begun in my basement. Since then we’ve rented space from the Pearlstone Center that we might serve families looking for more than a home-based program. However, it has become increasingly clear over the last year that our current facility is not meeting our needs.
And so, we began an extensive search in the local area of new possible locations for World House. We knew that we needed to meet some tough criteria to continue to provide strong nature-based and outdoor programming, core elements of our programs. Only one new space felt like it would serve our needs. However, as we worked to secure that space, we were met with zoning and purchase obstacles last week that are not easily resolved.
With the current location no longer meeting our needs, and in lieu of recent developments with the afore-planned new location, we have decided not to pursue a new home for World House for the 2019-2020 learning year. World House will therefore not be offering homeschool classes in the 2019-2020 learning year.
We will continue to operate our Homeschool Umbrella for 2019-2020.
On behalf of our teachers and office staff, I’d like to say that we’ve all enjoyed working with your families over the last four years, and we wish each of you the best of luck in your homeschool programs for 2019-2020.
